2015 Cabernet Franc Estate
Floral and herbaceous on the nose with lifted aromas of rose petal, lavender, dark cherry and cassis. A soft entry to the palate is followed by immediate density, with rich flavors of mission fig, blackberry and licorice root. Herbaceous notes of mint, black tea, wet earth and graphite combine with fresh and sappy, mouth-filling tannins to make this a truly distinctive expression of Cabernet Franc.

Winemaker Notes
Our Blue Mountain Estate Vineyard consistently produces outstanding Cabernet Franc, showcasing the dark earth and floral aromas and flavors that make it such a distinctive grape variety. Our two best blocks of Cabernet Franc were hand-harvested and sorted into small oak open tops for fermentation. After an extended time on skins, the wines were gently basket-pressed into new and used French oak barriques for nearly two years’ maturation prior to bottling.

Our complete lineup of Tranche wines is sliced into two different series: our ‘Rhone Series’ and our ‘Single Varietal Series’.
Rhone Series
Grapes native to France’s Rhône Valley are the focus of our ‘Slice of Pape’ program – our homage particularly to the blended wines of the Southern Rhône. Slice of Pape, Pape Blanc, and Pink Pape (our dry rosé) are crafted from the best of these traditional varietals. Separately and together, they offer you a New World expression of these classic Old World wines.
Rhone Series
Single Varietal Series
And finally, the cornerstones of our portfolio, we produce limited quantities of varietal wines, each focusing on a single grape. The Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Syrah express the terroir of our Blue Mountain Vineyard in Walla Walla. The Chardonnay comes from our Celilo Vineyard in the Columbia Gorge AVA, renown for growing the finest Chardonnay in Washington State. In these wines you can taste the grape’s unique character – its aromas, flavors, texture and detail.
